The #MeToo movement—and other recent, high-profile workplace incidents—have empowered people to come forward with a variety of complaints about misconduct in the workplace. Companies are under increasing pressure to address these claims. Now more than ever, companies must ensure they have proper procedures in place to promptly investigate should the need arise.

To meet the growing number of inquiries from clients seeking assistance in responding to workplace allegations, Ballard Spahr has assembled a cross-disciplinary and diverse team of attorneys with experience in every facet of these highly sensitive matters.

Led by members of our Labor and Employment and White Collar Defense/Internal Investigations Groups, our Workplace Investigations team comprises attorneys in a number of practice areas. Our nationally recognized Media and Entertainment Law Group has handled scores of defamation claims and can assist in drafting media strategy, if necessary. And with corporate leadership in the spotlight, team members who focus on corporate governance provide guidance when boards of directors are involved, either directly or indirectly.

Collectively, the members of this team have conducted hundreds of workplace investigations for domestic and international clients across industries and for private and public organizations of all sizes. As recent events have shown, investigations into workplace misconduct—whether that involves sexual misconduct, code of conduct issues, whistleblower complaints, or other types of corporate wrongdoing—often raise or uncover additional issues, such as matters involving securities and corporate governance, cybersecurity, and fraudulent business practices. Our highly experienced, multi-disciplinary team is prepared to seamlessly and efficiently respond to these issues.
