Ballard Spahr Named National Law Firm of the Year for Copyright Law, Earns 26 National Tier 1 Best Law Firms Rankings

Ballard Spahr has received 26 National Tier 1 rankings in the 2021 Best Law Firms report, and was named national Law Firm of the Year for Copyright Law. Only one law firm per legal practice earns that designation.

The Best Law Firms list recognizes firms for professional excellence based on feedback about their performance, capabilities, and professionalism provided by other leading lawyers and clients in the same communities and practice areas. The Law Firm of the Year honor singles out firms with particularly impressive overall performance in a certain practice area.

This is the third time Ballard Spahr's Trademarks and Copyrights Group has been recognized with Firm of the Year honors. It has been ranked in the highest tier nationally every year since 2014. The Group, led by Partner Hara K. Jacobs, helps clients protect and maximize the value of copyright assets ranging from musical compositions and literary works to software programs and databases.

Ballard Spahr received 187 total rankings across all Best Law Firms categories, including 84 Metropolitan Tier 1 rankings, nine of which were newly ranked this year.

A firm must have at least one attorney who is recognized in the current edition of Best Lawyers in a Best Law Firms-ranked practice area or metro area. Recognition by Best Law Firms is based on a survey and law firm clients and professional references' feedback on a firm's "expertise, responsiveness, understanding of a business and its needs, cost-effectiveness, civility, and whether they would refer another client to the firm."
