Odia Kagan, an attorney who focuses on technology transactions, privacy, and data security, will be honored as Committee Chair of the Year tonight by the Philadelphia Bar Association (PBA) Business Law Section.

Ms. Kagan is co-chair of the Section’s Cyberlaw Committee, which provides programming on matters of privacy and data security to Philadelphia-area attorneys. She was also recently elected to the PBA Executive Committee.

At Ballard Spahr, Ms. Kagan counsels clients on privacy and data security matters with a focus on EU compliance and the upcoming EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). A transactional attorney, she advises companies on privacy aspects of mergers and acquisitions, technology transactions, and the engagement of third-party vendors. Ms. Kagan is also a contributor to CyberAdviser, a Ballard Spahr blog that covers the latest news and developments in privacy and cybersecurity law.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Kagan served as a first lieutenant in the Israeli Defense Forces, where she was a military advocate and legal adviser to the Military Advocate General. She has practiced at law firms in United States and Israel.
