Hara K. Jacobs, a litigation partner in Ballard Spahr’s Philadelphia office, has been appointed to the Pennsylvania Bar Association Review and Certifying Board.
The Board reviews applications from organizations seeking to certify a lawyer's expertise in a specific field of practice and makes recommendations to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court for accreditation or reaccreditation of certifying organizations. The Board serves the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court by reviewing applicant organizations to determine if they meet the criteria set by the Court to certify appropriate lawyers as experts in their specific legal field.
Ms. Jacobs is a partner in Ballard Spahr’s Litigation and Intellectual Property Departments and a member of the Trademark and Copyright Group and Intellectual Property Litigation Group. She has litigated a wide variety of intellectual property matters, including trademark, trade dress, copyright, right of publicity, trade secret, misappropriation, false advertising, and patent cases. Ms. Jacobs also represents clients in business and estates litigation. She regularly litigates in federal and state courts and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
