Ballard Spahr continued the development of its Atlanta office with the addition of five new attorneys with diverse practices. Four of the five―Han C. Choi, Ethan H. Cohen, Byung J. Pak, and Tracy S. Plott―join Ballard Spahr from Schiff Hardin, and the fifth, Isidor Kim, comes from Miller & Martin.
All five attorneys have earned names for themselves working with Korean businesses, a market, the firm points out, that is growing in the Southeast.
The new hires represent a larger initiative of developing the firm’s newer offices across the country.
“It’s a very slow process,” said Ballard Spahr Chair Mark Stewart. “We really don’t grow quickly, because we’re very selective about our expansion. It wasn’t our goal to get three new practice areas with one acquisition – it just happened that way.”
