The recent power shift in Washington has raised a number of questions. One of the key concerns is the future of securities laws and securities law enforcement. After eight years of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) being led by former enforcement regulators and criminal prosecutors, it appears that the administration turnover marks a pivot toward securities deregulation and reduced enforcement.

Topics

In this webinar we will:

  • consider potential deregulation and reduced enforcement areas;
  • highlight responses to such actions through for example private ordering; and
  • raise securities developments that have flown under the radar but are interesting and relevant.
