Melissa R. Margulies serves as the firm's Client Service and Professional Development Counsel. In this role, Ms. Margulies seeks feedback from clients regarding the firm's service and how the firm can continue to provide the highest-quality representation to our clients. Also, Ms. Margulies seeks feedback from clients after significant matters conclude. We value our clients' views about what went well in a particular matter, what could have been improved, and how we can increase the value that our clients receive. Ms. Margulies uses the feedback to guide the lawyers on exceptional client service, often including client satisfaction improvement.
Ms. Margulies developed the firm's Strategic Account Management (SAM) program. She oversees numerous SAM teams that have been formed around clients of the firm, with a focus on fostering, enhancing, and expanding our trusted relationships. The teams work collaboratively, across disciplines, to understand our clients' businesses and what the firm can do to help our clients achieve their goals.
In addition, Ms. Margulies has overall responsibility for the strategic vision, management, and execution of the firm's associate professional development initiatives. She also counsels lawyers individually, providing guidance on career development and advancement.
Ms. Margulies sits on the firmwide Management Committee and provides both strategic and tactical recommendations to the firm's client service and business development initiatives. She has both outside counsel and in-house experience. She was senior corporate counsel at a Fortune 500 company. In that role, she managed the company's litigation and counseled in-house clients at the executive and operational levels on litigation and compliance matters. Ms. Margulies was a trial lawyer at a major law firm and a shareholder at a mid-size litigation firm. She is a Six Sigma Green Belt.
